Management. Lumina Copper. 2005-2006.
The client, Lumina Copper, is a Canadian listed junior, still active. The company had acquired the San Jorge Project, located in Mendoza Province from Northern Orion in 2003.
The San Jorge property is an Andean type “porphyry copper” hydrothermal system that has generated a significant amount of oxide, supergene and hypogene copper and gold mineralization.
Lumina required assistance with the development of their operations in Argentina, including management and exploration services.
Lumina Copper -known briefly as Global Copper-, retained us in 2005 to become the local manager for its activities in Argentina, mainly centered around their San Jorge project. Our inclusive model allowed them to operate remotely and in a fraction of time.
On the technical side, database verifications and site inspections were conducted.
However, as strategies mutate, the board of the company decided to divest the asset a few months after our engagement. For this reason, we then assisted mostly the corporate side. We played a key role in the sale of the project to fellow canadian Coro Mining, from being entrusted with delivering all information and knowledge of the project, to liaising with governemental officials, including negotiating and mediating with the landowner at the time -successfully completed as it was a hindrance on the project if not solved- as well as coordinating with other advisors.
